CCNT has a commitment to the reduction of domestic and family violence (DFV) through targeting men as a primary change agent.
The General Offender Program is a new program designed in the NT.
The program is a structured rehabilitation initiative that will run over 25 sessions and is aimed at addressing the underlying causes of offending, by offering participants essential skills to live a pro-social lifestyle.
The GOP Support Worker is responsible for engaging the men in the group activities of the program and supporting the participants in completing the entire program, in order to meet its objectives.
This position has a particular focus on ensuring the program activities are culturally appropriate and engaging for the participants to achieve their goals.
What we are looking for Relevant certificate with relevant experience or experience attained through previous appointments Knowledge of the community's history, values, beliefs, traditional practices including healing and wellness networks within the community (must reside in the community). Knowledge of different groups within the community, their interactions and related processes and community services that exist to ensure positive outcomes Demonstrated ability to advocate for participants and work effectively with stakeholders to meet program objectives High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
