FAST FACTS: Experienced general medicine PHO contracts available30-minute commute from Brisbane City CentreRelocation allowance availableTeaching opportunities available THE POSITION Our client, who is based to the west of Brisbane, is seeking multiple experienced General Medicine Principle House Officers for their Medical Department.
The General Medicine Principle House Officers are responsible for providing high-level medical care to patients in the Department of Medicine under the supervision and guidance of consultant medical staff.
You will be supervising and advising junior medical staff and students attached to the Department of Medicine, while also providing clinical and administrative support for medical services undertaken in clinical units of the hospital.

THE HOSPITAL This hospital's health service provides services to more than 320,000 people across the western communities of Brisbane.
With approximately 350+ beds, this hospital's health service provides services such as primary healthcare, ambulatory services, emergency, anaesthetics, acute care, sub-acute care, surgery, intensive and coronary care, orthopaedics, obstetrics, paediatrics, palliative care, and rehabilitation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACTIVITIES, AND DUTIES Provide medical care under the supervision and direction of senior medical staff.Document relevant clinical information and in-patient charts accurately, concisely, and legibly.Ensure discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete prior to leaving the unit.Conduct interviews, examinations, and the identification of clinical problems including day-to-day review of patients.Arrange investigations, surgical treatment, medical treatment, and discharge as directed by the assigned consultant.Assist with surgical procedures and outpatient clinics as directed by the Consultant.Provide support for junior and senior medical staff as required.Assist with case presentations at teaching meetings where necessary.Participate in clinical meetings undertaken within the appropriate clinical unit.Participate in after-hours shift roster as required by the Clinical Director, Department of Emergency Medicine.Assist with teaching junior medical staff, including clinical education and support.Participate in continual professional development and medical education.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Fully registered or eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with APRHA.Current experience relevant to the position of General Medicine Registrar / PHO.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends, nights, and public holidays.Proven 'in charge' experience.Evidence of involvement in continuing professional development.Proven ability to apply theoretical knowledge and experience in determining the appropriate clinical diagnosis, investigations, and treatment of patients.Proven reliability in work within personal level of expertise and seeking assistance as needed from senior staff.Demonstrated interest in assisting interns and residents to extend their clinical skills and knowledge.THE LOCATION Just a short 30-minute drive from Brisbane city centre, this location is renowned for its architectural, natural, and cultural heritage.
