About AgriFutures Australia At AgriFutures Australia, our vision is to grow the long-term prosperity of Australian rural industries. AgriFutures is one of fifteen rural Research and Development Corporations that service the R,D & E needs of Australian agriculture. As of 2022/2023, AgriFutures 13 levied industries collectively reached a total gross value of $4.4 billion. AgriFutures is responsible for investing in research and development to promote industry growth, sustainability and resilience through innovation, learning, and leadership in rural industries that do not have their own dedicated RDC and new emerging industries. The Role The General Manager, Workforce, Communications and Adoption plays a vital role at AgriFutures and works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director, the Board and other key stakeholders. It takes responsibility for planning and managing the communications, workforce, capacity building and adoption portfolio of AgriFutures. You will lead a dynamic, energetic and high-performing team who take ownership and accountability of priorities ensuring key strategies are achieved. The team you lead oversees specific programs that enable AgriFutures to communicate effectively with a multitude of stakeholders, plans workforce initiatives in agriculture, and builds industry capacity. In the role you will also: be an active and collaborative member of the executive leadership team and connect and engage with levy payers to remain relevant drive strategies for extension and adoption including capacity building, leadership and skill development programs like Rural Women's Award and Horizon Scholarship oversee all communication channels such as website, social media, events, newsletters etc. maximise Agrifutures leverage and promotion of sponsorships and partnerships and oversee a clearly defined corporate brand strategy ensure budgets are monitored against expected performance levels The Person To be successful in this leadership role you will have: proven people leadership skills with a high degree of self-awareness and empathy, emotional intelligence, resilience, and with high levels of energy and drive a history of financial acumen and business insight with a strategic mindset and global perspective a history of communications leadership and management complemented with strong project management skills relevant extensive executive management experience with exposure to agriculture understanding rural industries, policies, programs and agricultural systems ability to work with diverse stakeholders to develop and implement well-planned strategic business programs demonstrated skills in organisational management and an ability to set priorities, work productively and perform well under pressure Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Communications, marketing and events or a related field) or relevant equivalent experience.
