Join one of Australia's leading manufacturers in steel building products with the opportunity to build an almost "greenfield" manufacturing, sales & distribution operation in South Australia, thereby advancing the company's geographical footprint in Australia. The company has been very successful in delivering a quality range of products, services, and solutions to their customers throughout Eastern Australia due to their commitment to providing an exceptional level of value-add and customer service.
Responsibilities: Build the business in South Australia. Recruit your team and develop a business plan. Work with various parties/stakeholders internally and externally. Purchase, organize, coordinate, and set up manufacturing equipment on site. Manage transport, logistics, and distribution aspects. Manage the complete "fit out" of a fully functional manufacturing and supply business. Lead the team to achieve set company objectives, including sales revenue and profit margins. Manage all controllable expenses and operational KPI's. Drive sales initiatives to build consistent sales and market share in the region. Foster strong relationships with Residential and Commercial Builders and Trade Contractors. Qualifications: Proven experience as a "Hands on" Manager in medium-sized manufacturing businesses ($10M+) in the building products industry (ideally Steel). Strong knowledge and understanding of the building & construction industry. Experience in managing personnel in a sales, manufacturing, and distribution environment. Ability to foster a safety environment and drive continuous improvement in production, systems, and processes. Strategic, commercial, and financially sound with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proactive, energetic, results-oriented, and resilient.
