About The Role
Reporting to the Group Executive – Selfco, you will be responsible for the efficient running of the day-to-day Operations Team, which includes Credit, Document Preparation, Settlements, Administration, IT, Collections, and Accounting.
The General Manager will apply their extensive commercial banking experience to identify opportunities and implement processes and strategies that will enhance the Selfco customer experience.
As the General Manager – Selfco, you are overall responsible for ensuring the meeting and exceeding of service levels across the team.
In addition, you will work closely with the Sales Team and 3rd Party introducers to ensure service quality remains at a high level.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Selfco's relationships with external 3rd parties, such as regulatory bodies, lawyers, and equipment valuers.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure workflows are running smoothly and that transactions are processed within agreed SLAs consistent with Selfco's policies and appetite.
Escalation point for policy exceptions and credit decision reviews.
Point of reference for team members seeking direction on "outside of the box" matters.
Final compliance review and second approver on the system prior to the release of proceeds on all new settlements.
Monitor the receivable portfolio and build out the reporting suite to identify trends and provide business insights.
Ongoing review of credit, documentation, settlements, and collections processes to optimise and ensure compliance with Selfco's policies and procedures.
Work with the Senior Collections Manager to ensure that portfolio performance is within agreed targets.
Chair the Selfco Credit Committee and influence adjustments to be made to allow for market conditions, portfolio trends, or collections experiences.
Monitor the business pipeline and ensure the appropriate resourcing is in place to support the agreed business plan.
Represent Selfco at industry functions and events and lead the management of operational external 3rd party relationships.
Collaborate with the IT Manager to ensure all systems are operational and ensure processes and systems are in place to manage cyber attacks.
Collaborate with the Administration Manager on the preparation of the Selfco management accounts, including the General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and Profit & Loss Statement.
Handle complaints and be the escalation point, as required.
Oversee the development, morale, and well-being of all employees.
About You
This position will also require:
Minimum 10 years' experience within a financial services environment, with previous exposure to commercial asset finance.
At least 5 of the above years' experience in a senior manager/people management role.
Experience in the third-party broker market.
Tertiary qualification in Business or Finance preferred.
