Hewitt is the largest integrated supply chain of certified organic meat, with an extensive history in family farming, now carrying over 200,000 livestock across 5.6 million acres of Australia. We are an end-to-end supply chain, spanning livestock production through to branded-retail ready products, some of which you may have seen on your supermarket shelves.
Our Purpose is "feeding the world with a system that lasts forever."
The Role

As the General Manager, People & Safety , you will play a pivotal role implementing Hewitt's human resources and safety practices. You will have the ability to mould a culture of excellence, safety, and inclusivity across the organisation, effectively engaging and collaborating with executive and senior management teams to drive organisational success. Seamlessly managing priorities, tasks and communication is essential to this role.

Your eye for metrics and KPIs ensures the effectiveness of initiatives, while your commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends ensures continual improvement.
Safety and Compliance: Isn't a box ticking exercise. It's about developing and maintaining a safety culture across the organisation, ensuring compliance and genuine commitment to all relevant safety regulations. This role demands that you not only design safety programs but also get in there, engaging directly with teams on the ground to embed safety practices. Safety training programs aren't just routines; they are your tools to minimise workplace accidents and incidents. Regular safety audits and assessments under your management aren't seen as routine checks; they are strategic actions shaped by your involvement. Safety is paramount and non-negotiable.
Talent Management: Lead talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, recruitment and onboarding, to attract and retain top talent. Create and implement professional development and training programs that empower employees to excel in their roles.
