We are seeking a strategically minded General Manager of Operations (GMO) to provide robust leadership within our client's operations. The GMO will play a pivotal role in steering the operations team and efficient delivery of services to clientele. This position holds the ultimate accountability for spearheading the implementation of operational initiatives and ensuring the business not only achieves, but surpasses its vision and objectives, in alignment with strategic, client-directed goals.
Role Overview As the General Manager of Operations, you will be at the forefront of driving a culture of professionalism and respect, underpinned by collaboration and continuous improvement. You will act as a brand ambassador in all stakeholder interactions, contributing to the recruitment and onboarding process, and coaching team members to enhance business performance across the board.
Key Responsibilities Exhibit professional and respectful behaviours at all times, serving as a role model. Drive a culture built on collaboration and continuous improvement. Actively participate in recruitment and onboarding activities. Coach and mentor team members and peers. Proactively address performance and behavioural issues. Manage seasonal labour resources effectively, including staff leave, performance appraisals, and ensuring sufficient staffing for operational needs. Liaise with the Business Manager to foster an engaged team and minimise turnover through various initiatives.
Requirements Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field. A current Australian Manual Driver's Licence. A Senior First Aid Certificate and Chemical Users' Certificate (preferred). Extensive agriculture/horticulture knowledge, preferably with tree nuts. Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proven track record in developing high-performing teams. Comprehensive knowledge of orchard operations, machinery, and detailed agronomic knowledge. Passion for a long-term career in agriculture/horticulture.
