The role As the General Manager Mining Environmental Compliance you will lead and manage the operations, resources, and staff of the Environmental Compliance Branch, implement and engage regulatory reform, improve and change management approaches, provide high-level advice to the department's Executive, minerals and energy sector, general public and industry organisations in relation to the legislative Acts.
This role also manages assessment, audit, performance monitoring of mining and exploration approvals for compliance with environmental regulatory requirements, participates in strategic and operational planning, ensures divisional priorities are achieved according to the operational plan, drives process and service improvements, efficiencies and integration within the branch, and ensures appropriate skills and expertise are available within the Branch to ensure optimum performance and multi-skilling of staff linked to the workforce plan and requirements of the division.

A Bachelor Degree of Science, Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management. Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience of environmental regulatory management. Demonstrated high-level strategic management skills including an ability to lead and develop staff within a positive team environment.
