NT Health, Central Australia Region is now seeking an experienced General Manager, Central Australia Mental Health & Alcohol & other Drugs Services to lead the day-to-day operations and provide high level leadership of mental health services in Central Australia (including, urban and remote).
The General Manager will develop and implement innovative, responsive, and contemporary strategies and service models to meet the health needs of the client population.
Reporting to the Central Australia Region Executive Director, the General Manager, Central Australia Mental Health & Alcohol & other Drugs Services will play an important role on the Strategic Executive Committee Team of the Central Australia Region and will contribute significantly to the Health Service vision, role modelling of NT Health values, strategic direction, performance and health outcomes for the communities of Central Australia.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Health Service executive leader, with a passion for regional and remote health care provision, to live and work in a wonderful region of Australia.
To be a strong candidate for the role you will have: 
Extensive senior management experience in the delivery of Mental Health and/or Alcohol and other Drug Services is highly desired, together with a demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes within a complex and highly regulated service environment. Extensive experience in policy and program development, implementation and review with a focus on quality and safety and continuous improvement.  High level interpersonal, negotiation and collaboration skills with a capacity to achieve positive outcomes with consumers, carers, government and non-government stakeholders. Demonstrated high level knowledge and skills in human resource and financial management including an understanding of issues associated with managing a diverse range of discipline groups, and leading the multi-disciplinary team to work to the top of their scope within the capability framework. Sound knowledge and understanding of the nature and scope of service delivery to indigenous populations in urban and remote areas in addition to an ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
