Maroondah Golf Park (MGP) is a thriving facility that has been providing golfing entertainment for all ages for over 25 years. Two 18-hole mini golf courses, one fully undercover, combined with one of Melbourne's longest driving ranges plus grass tee and short game areas and an on-site PGA Pro, combine to create an exciting recreation offering. The newly updated clubhouse allows guests to enjoy refreshments as part of their experience and offers options for large group functions and children's parties. With the huge growth the golf sector is currently experiencing we are excited about developing and exploring new opportunities for MGP.
About the Role:
The General Manager (GM) of Maroondah Golf Park will be the lynch pin of the facility, providing vision and strong leadership for the management of day-to-day operations. The GM will also work closely with the Directors to identify and execute growth strategies for the business while achieving excellence in customer service and adherence to MGP's values. Responsibilities include:
Leadership, supervision and coaching to the management team, currently comprising an Assistant Manager, Duty Managers and Head of MaintenancePlanning & budgeting for financial objectivesRecruitment and training of staff to build a high-performing, customer-focused teamDevelopment of policies and procedures with a focus on continuous improvementImplementation of the marketing strategy, including public relations and social mediaAsset management, including oversight of facilities and equipment maintenanceFood and beverage managementEffective management of workplace health, safety and environmentThis position is being offered on a full-time basis, working a flexible roster including some weekends in order to have full oversight of the business. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated.

As General Manager, you will be a considered decision maker with a high level of business and financial acumen, integrity and professionalism. You will be able to confidently manage a multitude of tasks over varied departments utilizing your outstanding communication skills, creativity, and logical problem solving. You will have a strong track record in driving cultural change and promoting a positive team environment.
Experience in a similar leadership role within the Sports & Recreation industry would be ideal but if you have significant team leadership and project management experience from a different industry, we would love to hear from you. Tertiary qualifications in Sports Management, Business Management, Marketing or a related field will be highly regarded.
