About the role...
As we look to the future to ensure our vision of being the Ultimate Surfing Company is achieved we are on the search for a General Manager of Marketing based in Torquay, Australia.
The role will set, lead, and execute Rip Curl's Marketing strategy, globally and locally.
The role will maintain and expand upon Rip Curl's brand recognition and credibility, consistently driving customer engagement, acquisition, conversion and retention opportunities through all sales channels via Content Creation, Trade Marketing, Media, Communications, PR, Sports Marketing, Partnerships and other innovative solutions or market leading opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee and grow the awareness of the Rip Curl brand globally, ensuring we stay true to our vision and mission together with our company and brand values.
Lead, develop and execute strategic plans in line with the rolling 3-Year-Plan.
Lead the awareness of a consumer first mindset across the company, integrating this into the execution of marketing at all steps of the consumer journey, in all channels.
Establish and maintain strong relationships and communication across Retail, eCommerce, Sales and Product, supporting each Department with their marketing needs so to achieve Department and Company KPI's.
Create and innovate market leading content and campaigns.
Oversee media, PR, social media strategy and execution.
Partner with Head of Membership and CX to develop and execute strategies to deliver member acquisition and retention initiatives across all channels.
Establish the Team and Events strategy, ensuring these initiatives support the 3 Year Strategy.
Review, approve and optimise all global partnerships and collaborations, ensuring partnerships are commercially advantageous and/or driving customer acquisition and brand building.
Lead and create the brand marketing strategy for Key Accounts, Flagship, licensed and partner stores.
Partner with Regional Marketing managers to build and allocate budgets and ensure alignment with global brand/marketing strategy.
About you...
You will have Tertiary qualifications such as Marketing, Communications or Digital with demonstrated experience in marketing strategy.
International experience in at least two regions with vision of the market and its evolution will be key to your success in the role.
You have deep understanding of experience trends across business, industry, markets and competitors.
Ideally you will have experience across different customer segments within retail, wholesale and online and have a deep understanding of trends and analytics of customers in this space.
You will have strong examples of how your programs and initiatives drove sales and increased engagement across customer segments.
