With a diverse trade base, the Fremantle Inner Harbour handles almost all container trade for the State, as well as motor vehicles and equipment, livestock, break-bulk and liquid trades. The Outer Harbour in Kwinana is one of Australia's major bulk cargo ports handling cement clinker, petroleum, LPG, fertilisers, and other bulk commodities. In addition to port operations, there is a focus on activation to create a vibrant waterfront tourism destination at Victoria Quay.This is a tremendous opportunity for an experienced major projects leader who is passionate about making an impactful and meaningful contribution to Fremantle Ports and Western Australia's economic future. The successful candidate will join Fremantle Ports at an exciting time as they commence on their newly refreshed corporate strategy with significant capital investment at all locations.As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this newly created role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for leading the successful delivery of Fremantle Ports' major projects program. Major projects encompass all projects greater than $100 million requiring Infrastructure WA approvals, in accordance with Western Australia's strategic asset management framework.This is a critical role charged with providing strategic advice to the Board, CEO and Executive on major projects, including being a point of interface and support to other government major projects. Key aspects of the role include:Formulating Fremantle Ports Major Projects program delivery strategy and model.Establishing the Major Projects program team and developing the team's operational plans and targets to achieve corporate objectives and targets.Driving a high level of engagement and visibility across internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and delivery of the Major Projects program.Contributing to the leadership of Fremantle Ports, including the delivery of the corporate strategy through development and implementation of strategic initiatives, while prioritising outcomes for the business.Influencing, championing and challenging the safety culture to improve safety outcomes.To be successful you will be recognised as a motivated and highly visible leader with significant experience in infrastructure project management. Your broad exposure to all key elements of the project management life cycle will set you up for career success. You will have highly effective change management, influencing and negotiation skills and strong commercial acumen, particularly with respect to delivering long term value for money through project and contract management.The successful candidate will have contemporary knowledge of program performance reporting and thrive on keeping abreast of emerging project and contract governance and management related practices, industry trends, Australian and international standards, statutory requirements, and applicable government policies. Experience leading major project delivery within large, or similarly complex industries is essential, as is your demonstrated experience in contract management, including leadership experience in AS4000.
