General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) Full time The General Manager – Indonesian Assets is required to manage the operational and commercial aspects of the Indonesian Livestock Operations (ILO) business and other commercial arrangements within Indonesia. The key elements of the role are the co-ordination and management of livestock from quarantine to feedlot, oversight of operations and animal performance and welfare and the development and management of marketing programs to maximise the profits in ILO. This role will predominantly be based in Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities Include: Ensure compliance with the Safety Management System and related safety policies in all management decisions.Plan and manage activities that maximise the performance and value of livestock.Lead and mentor the team to achieve high performance in animal welfare, biosecurity, and environmental outcomes in accordance with company policies.Plan and manage daily operations to optimise resource use, ensuring efficiency and high-quality outcomes across all activities.Manage and monitor all ESCAS requirements for AAM Animals in association with live export companies.Develop and execute operational business plans, aligned with approved budgets and forecasts, to drive success and profitability.Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including financial performance, livestock outcomes, and supply chain efficiency.Identify new business opportunities through community engagement and market analysis, building positive relationships with third parties.Collaborate with leadership to prepare and set financial budgets, reforecasts, and operational strategies for board approval.Measure, monitor and report financial performance and physical performance utilising key performance metrics to assist in improving financial outcomes.Ensure site maintenance and documentation are managed effectively through the Mex software system, maintaining high operational standards.Build and maintain a broad network of contacts in Australian and Indonesia and assist staff with cultural awareness of Indonesian customs.Promote a positive working culture, fostering teamwork, integrity, and continuous professional development within the team.Ideally the successful candidate will have: Minimum of 5 years working in the Agriculture IndustryExperience working in a remote environment dealing with challenges related to a remote businessDemonstrated skill and experience in leading and managing people including conflict resolutionAbility to develop and maintain strategic relationships with all stakeholdersStrong commercial acumen and drive to maximise profitExtensive work history and demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary and diverse teamExcellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work demands and meet tight deadlinesDemonstrated ability in record keeping and technology use, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft suiteThis role requires the incumbent to have been or be prepared to be vaccinated against tetanus, hepatitis & Q feverWho we are: AAM is an Australian owned and operated business, managing a range of agricultural assets across Australia.
