NORSTA Maritime, a key provider of regional maintenance services to the Australian Defence sector, is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our Regional Maintenance Provider (RMP) program.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader with deep expertise in Defence, navy, or maritime industries to take the helm of a growing business with a focus on excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainability.
About the Role
Reporting to the Group CEO, the General Manager will play a crucial role in the establishment and delivery of programs in the Australian Defence environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for benefit realisation, in service support contract management, and program management.
They will lead and manage a team of high-performing individuals in complex contract situations, ensuring strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of successful outcomes. Delivering seaworthy assets to Navy, on time, will be fundamentally important.
Responsibilities
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of the RMP-NE contract, ensuring the delivery of maintenance and supply support services to the highest standards.
Your core duties will include:

Contract and Program Management: Overseeing the RMP-NE contract, ensuring all deliverables are met, including financial, commercial, and statutory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including Commonwealth agencies, suppliers, and customers, with a focus on regional development.
Leadership & Team Development: Leading a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance.
Financial & Operational Management: Driving profitability and sustainability, ensuring project KPIs are met or exceeded, and promoting continuous improvement.
Change Management: Steering the company through growth and change, adapting to emerging challenges and opportunities within the Defence and maritime sectors.
Safety & Compliance: Upholding Norsta's commitment to safety, security, and environmental standards.

About You:
You are a seasoned leader with substantial experience in the Defence, Maritime, or related sectors. You thrive in complex stakeholder environments and have a proven track record in managing In-Service Support Contracts for the Australian Defence Force. You bring strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and are adept at navigating large, multifaceted contracts.
Essential Experience:

Proven experience in delivering large-scale Defence contracts.
Expertise in contract management and financial oversight.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and drive regional industry capability.

Desirable Experience:

Background in strategic planning and program management.
Leadership in dynamic and complex environments.
Experience managing change within growing organisations.

Skills and Qualifications required:

Tertiary qualifications in business, contract, or project management.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar senior role.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in leading diverse teams and managing complex projects.
Ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
