As the new General Manager, you will continue the philosophy of "continual improvement" and excellence in customer service, with a focus on attention to detail.The Club, established in 1967, is community-owned and is the premier family venue in Katherine with over 2,800 members. It has 45 EGMs, KENO, TAB, eight ball, and darts facilities. It is also the home of the renowned "Pedro's" Bistro. This is a successful Club with a positive community culture looking forward to continued success leading into the future.Katherine is situated 300 kilometers south of Darwin in the Northern Territory and services the "Big Rivers" Region of the Northern Territory, stretching from the West Australian border to the Gulf of Carpentaria, covering an area in excess of 336,0002 kilometers.ResponsibilitiesDay-to-day management of all areas of the Club's operationsLead, manage, and oversee the financial management and reporting of the ClubProvide meaningful and accurate reporting to the Board of managementManage and nurture your team to continual successCommunicate professionally with suppliers, stakeholders, and patronsMinimum RequirementsDemonstrated experience at a high level in the hospitality industrySound knowledge and experience in gaming, catering, bar, bistro, and club operationsOutstanding business ethics and integrityAbility to lead and motivate effective teams to maintain the level of excellence that the incumbent General Manager has setConversant with the regulatory and "best practice" requirements relevant to the operations of a licensed clubAbility to operate the business in accordance with community aspirations and expectationsVisible manager who is present and shows genuine care for people and the businessTake advantage of opportunities, including relevant innovative measures, to enhance the visitor experience and improve the position of the businessHold, or be in a position to obtain, relevant legislative licenses and nominationsComfortable working at a higher level as well as being "hands-on" in the day-to-day operation of the businessWork collaboratively with the Board of management and implement policy and directivesThe Board of management is looking forward to hearing from candidates who meet the criteria and can see this as an excellent opportunity to join a successful club and become part of the local community.Renumeration – $125 – 140K pa (in addition to statutory superannuation), annual leave 6 weeksRelocation assistance, if required, will be offered to the successful candidate.
