General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)
Peter and Una Seafoods is a family business that is vertically integrated from fishing vessels, processing to wholesale and retail sales. We are seeking an experienced General Manager for the well-established retail and wholesale departments, based in Devonport. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing financial performance, human resources, daily operations, procurement, and sales.
Role Responsibilities
Manage the financial performance of the business.
Manage the wholesale and retail operations and deliver strategic objectives.
Manage, lead, and motivate staff to ensure a high-performing team culture is maintained.
Build customer relationships and ensure product and service is delivered at a high standard.
Identify key areas for improvement across the business and develop strategic procedures for improvement.
Develop and maintain a safety culture.
Based in Devonport. Some intrastate travel may be required.
Experience
Have demonstrated strong commercial acumen and experience in finance and budgetary management.
Demonstrated leadership and human resource management skills in a similar role.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, the Board, and other stakeholders.
An established, or demonstrated ability to acquire, understanding of relevant workplace legislation and ensure compliance.
Experience in the food industry is advantageous.
A degree level, or equivalent in business or finance would be advantageous.
Experience in procurement and sales would be advantageous.
