Our core services comprise civil works, trenching, cable installation, electrical and mechanical installations, terminations, testing, commissioning (DC, LV, HV), operations support and maintenance expertise.Due to company growth, AEC is seeking a General Manager to lead the technical services & specialised contracting business unit AEM, providing engineering management, technology leadership, procurement, specialised contracting, commissioning, operational support and maintenance services in the new energy, power infrastructure & industrial sectors.The AEM business entity supports AEC's in-house construction projects in renewables, providing a competitive advantage and technical expertise, while also working directly with external clients.Key Accountabilities will include:Provide effective leadership and management to the AEM team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.Develop and implement strategies to refine AEM's client value proposition and achieve budgeted revenue and profit targets.Drive technical service excellence in the renewables and energy sectors supporting AEC's in-house construction projects.Oversee project performance within the AEM portfolio from project initiation to completion in accordance with execution plans, client requirements, corporate policies, standards, and procedures.Provide regular performance reporting and drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.Develop, coach and mentor the technical, delivery and field teams, providing them with regular feedback and leadership.Pro-actively manage AEM business and project-related risks and opportunities.Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include:Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management or equivalent Specialist Trade and business management credentials.Minimum of 10 years' senior leadership experience, working for a construction contractor or a project delivery and engineering consultancy or EPC company.Strong knowledge of the renewables and energy sectors, with exposure to other markets such as heavy industry and resources considered favourable.Proven ability to work effectively from a strategic and operational level, with a 'hands on' leadership approach.Previous experience in growing a successful services business unit, with strong commercial acumen.Location: Ashgrove QLD, with site visits as required to fulfill the duties of the role.
