Your new company Western Sydney based medium-sized building services and engineering organisation with a blue collar workforce are looking for a new General Manager of HR to lead their HR function.Your new role The GM of HR role is a key part of the leadership team, responsible for strategic planning of human resources and implementing People & Culture initiatives to achieve organisational goals.
This position acts as a change agent with strong commercial insight, contributing at both strategic and operational levels.
Pivotal to the role will be an organisational development focus which enhances attraction and retention of staff through programs such as developing an Employee Value Proposition (EVP).The primary responsibilities include developing HR policies for leadership approval, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and minimising risk and liability.
The role also involves fulfilling organisational development needs through activities like recruitment, retention, development, and workforce planning.
Additionally, it oversees the management of industrial relations risks through timely consultation.You will also be leading employee relations and industrial relations matters, including renegotiating an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) next year.The position will manage two HR professionals, and supports the operations across all states in Australia, requiring interstate travel.What you'll need to succeed - Significant experience in a similar HR leadership role which includes both hands on operational duties, and senior strategic responsibility.- Experience developing an EVP's is highly desired.- Experience working on and negotiating EBA's is highly desired.- The ability to manage change and transformation is essential.- Blue collar industry experience is essential.What you'll get in return An ambitious company who has a strong list of valued clients and a leading position in the markets they operate in.
