The company employs over 550 people.We are seeking an experienced executive with a proven track record in health, safety, environment, and compliance (HSEC) sectors to lead and implement key initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of managing organisational systems, processes, procedures, and programs.Reporting to the CEO and an important member of the leadership team, you will work to develop the HSEC strategy further to be aligned with key business objectives and lead its implementation. Through coaching, guidance, and governance activities, we expect you to partner and connect with operational managers and clients to simplify ways of working and improve risk management and performance outcomes for sustainable business values while leading a dedicated team of multi-disciplined professionals.With a promising trajectory of significant growth across all business areas in the next few years, this role offers an exciting challenge and ample opportunities for learning and development. You will be required to collaborate and coach our leaders, spread across Western Australia, during this period of immense company growth.As a leader in our organisation, you will be crucial in ensuring that our divisional leadership teams adhere to legislative and company requirements and maintain a zero-harm environment. Your strong leadership skills will be instrumental in this process, underscoring the significance and responsibility of this position.Lead and drive our culture with the critical attributes of:Sense of UrgencyStrive to SucceedRespecting Others TimeIndividual Accountability Supported by the TeamKey ResponsibilitiesFurther develop the HSEC management strategies and implementationsProvide operational advice and mentoring on HSEC obligations and dutiesEnsure business compliance with industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulationsDevelop and maintain HSEC systems and platformsDrive simplified and effective safe working proceduresOversee workers' compensation and RTW programsLead and manage HSEC metrics and reporting for learning and continuous improvementAssist with tenders, contracts, and develop and lead positive client relationshipsAssist in the delivery of the organisational environmental, social and governance strategyMonitor and measure environmental factors to reduce the impact of emmisionsLead and facilitate all incident reporting and investigations to determine contributing factors and root causeManage the drug and alcohol testing program across all business unitsDrive organisational change in a fast-growing businessLead and develop the HSEC team to ensure best practice deliveryIdentify opportunities to continuously improve performance, recording and reporting systems and processes.Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholder groupsSkills and Experience:At least 5 years of experience in a strategic and operational HSEQ role, ideally gained in transport or miningDemonstrated strong leadership qualities and mentoring skillsA relevant tertiary qualificationExposure to a blue-collar environment is essentialA consultative and situational management styleNegotiation and problem-solving skillsSophisticated communication skills to deliver effective messaging across multiple levels within the organisationAbility to work autonomouslyStrong knowledge of OHS/WHS and the interpretation of legislation into practiceAbility to flex between strategic and operational activitiesAbility to promote safer outcomes through company culture and application of best practicesAbility to travel within AustraliaDemonstrated experience using MS Office suite and HSEQ systemsExcellent organisational and analytical skillsExceptional internal and external customer serviceTo apply for this position please submit your resume and cover letter by clicking the 'Apply for this Job' button.Please note only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and applications close 20 November 2024.
