An exciting new leadership opportunity has opened for a highly skilled General Manager, Group Financial Control to lead our Accounting and Control (A&C) team, forming part of our larger Group Finance division. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this pivotal role will manage and shape our financial control landscape, aiming for excellence in accounting operations, ASX reporting, and financial compliance across Equity Trustees.
This role is ideal for a seasoned Financial Controller prepared to drive change, particularly through process transformation and technology optimisation, including maximising the impact of our recent Workday investment. You'll also work closely with cross-functional teams to embed automation, efficiency, and robust financial controls, while fostering a high-performance culture within the team. This position has a clear pathway for career growth, with strong development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities: Led the Accounting & Reporting function to ensure timely and accurate ASX financial reporting and tax compliance, including the preparation of the Group's Half-Year and Year-End Financial Reports. Overseeing income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow management, adhering to accounting standards and audit requirements. Managing the end-to-end period close process (month, half-year, and annual) and ensuring a timely financial close. Directing corporate tax compliance activities and managing regulatory capital obligations to meet ASX standards. Implementing and optimising our Capital Management Strategy, corporate treasury, and cash management activities. Overseeing continuous improvement of finance-related processes and policies across the Group. Leading a high-performing team, driving staff engagement, development, and a continuous improvement mindset. What You'll Need to Succeed: Significant of post-qualification experience, ideally in an ASX-listed or managed services environment. Proven experience as a strong people leader, skilled at fostering team engagement, continuous improvement, and performance excellence. Demonstrated experience in process transformation, including finance technology implementations like Workday. Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and partner effectively with both senior executives and external stakeholders. High attention to detail and a strong understanding of Australian/International Accounting Standards. Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or a Finance-related discipline.
