You will monitor and respond to international trade, investment and tourism policy issues, and collaborate across Austrade, government and clients to achieve the best possible operating environment for business, while bringing Austrade insights and perspectives into Commonwealth Government policy development processes.To be successful as the General Manager, Government and Policy you will have substantial policy acumen, with commercial experience also an advantage; a sound knowledge of global economic trends and the Australian Government's trade, investment, tourism and industry policies; experience leading teams through change and growing capability; and a track record of delivering in complex operating environments. Global experience in public policy will be highly regarded.As General Manager, Government and Policy, you will also lead the support for our Ministers, including managing the processes for New Policy Proposals (NPP), Ministerial briefing and correspondence, Cabinet submissions, question time briefing, Senate Estimates and the preparation of responses to questions on notice (QoN).
