Our teams provide testing services from the early stages of product development to large-scale quality checks after a product is launched.The roleWe're seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to take on the role of General Manager for our Food & Pharmaceutical business across Australia and New Zealand. This senior leadership position offers the chance to drive growth, innovation, and excellence in a diverse business with significant opportunities for improvement and expansion. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the business—from defining regional strategy and setting cultural standards to achieving targets, building client relationships, and ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead the growth and impact of our business in Australasia, to deliver a safer, healthier and better world.The role can be based at our laboratories in either Melbourne (Scoresby), Sydney (Rydalmere) or Hamilton NZ.We're looking for a leader whoIs ideally degree qualified in a relevant scientific discipline with proven leadership experience in a Senior Manager role in a high throughput and related laboratory business.Demonstrates strong leadership and inter-personal skills and is a proficient user of IT / lab systems. This is a Senior Leadership level appointment with the requirement to deliver exceptional results with excellent communication, collaboration and team management abilities.Has experience being responsible for all aspects of the business and possesses excellent organisational, strategic planning skills, as well as financial acumen and budgeting skills.Demonstrates a passion for people, business and clients, as well as being an ambassador of the ALS Core Values.Working at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.
