This pivotal role focuses on optimising maintenance processes and driving continuous improvement in standard operating procedures. This position will lead initiatives to enhance workforce and resource allocation, streamline parts and procurement processes, and improve operational integration. Reporting to the Head of Fleet & Maintenance Capability, you will uphold the highest standards of safety and airworthiness while supporting organisational growth and departmental initiatives. Familiarity with Bombardier aircraft and their associated maintenance ecosystems is highly regarded, along with your ability to balance technical expertise with corporate expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Fixed Wing Engineering department, ensuring all operations align with organisational objectives and performance standards.Support the engineering team in achieving high-quality maintenance outcomes, fostering accountability and professional growth.Drive the improvement and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure department efficiency and consistency.Oversee workforce and resource allocation to optimise AOG response performance and minimise downtime.Develop strategic solutions to enable the parts and procurement department to meet the Fixed Wing fleet's requirements effectively.Ensure full compliance with CASA regulations and internal policies, maintaining the highest standards of safety and airworthiness.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to achieve operational and strategic goals.Deliver accurate and timely reports on departmental performance, maintenance forecasts, and key initiatives.Who We Are Looking ForEssential Competencies:Extensive experience in an aviation technical environment, including airworthiness and engineering management.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of managing diverse teams during periods of growth.Formal aviation qualification (e.g., LAME) with in-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, policies, and legislation.A minimum of 5 years in aviation engineering/commercial management, including experience liaising with and managing OEM relationships.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for maintenance forecasting and strategic planning.Familiarity with Bombardier aircraft systems, Air Ambulance operations and maintenance programs.Knowledge of CASR Part 145 regulations and maintenance management systems.Understanding of fleet expansion strategies and the operational needs of fixed-wing aircraft.Why LifeFlight?Meaningful Impact: Working with LifeFlight Australia provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people's lives.
