About the Role As the General Manager of Community Aged Care you are responsible for the strategic management and growth of Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ) Community Aged Care Services, ensuring high quality, contemporary and flexible service delivery.
The General Manager role collaborates with cross functional leaders to ensure positive outcomes for the strategic direction of aged care services.
The role is also responsible for building and strengthening external strategic partnerships to ensure ongoing service development and viability; compliance and adherence to legislation and regulation; developing and implementing best practice systems and processes and ensuring, cross-referrals and integration of services to clients.
Key Role Accountabilities: Oversee all operational aspects of the area of responsibility to ensure highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.Support the execution of the organisational strategic plan with a supported strategic plan for own area of responsibility whilst setting clear goals and objectives for execution, growth, and sustainability.
In conjunction with the Director Ageing Well participate in setting and delivering on the WMQ Community Aged Care Strategies and the broader Ageing Well Directorate.Manage allocated budget and monitor financial metrics to drive stewardship and financial sustainability.
In partnership with Sales and Marketing team lead an annual price review against competitor offerings and operating models.Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities, using this information to make informed business decisions and provide solutions to critical business activities.Recruit, develop, motivate and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.Governance, Risk & Compliance: Comply with legislative and regulatory requirements, WMQ's policies, tools and governance frameworks (including risk management and care & clinical governance), ensuring identification of potential risks and non-compliance, escalating in accordance with WMQ's frameworks.About You You are a commercial leader with substantial expertise in managing a high performing and successful business in either Aged Care or in a complex, highly regulated, healthcare environment.
The role exists to work with a team of accountable leaders, driving a high-performing culture to deliver performance targets and financial objectives while being consistent with, and aligned to our model of care.
Proven experience in overseeing operational processes to ensure high levels of efficiency and effectiveness.Ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organisational goals, ensuring growth and sustainability.Excellent business acumen, high emotional intelligence, an empathy for the ageing, strong leadership ability and influencing skills.Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.Proven track record in leading and engaging teams to deliver strong financial performance (profit balance sheet and cash flow) relevant to/transferable to community aged care performance.Understanding of the future trends, directions, influences and competitive landscape within the aged care sector and the aged care reforms that impact this.Experience in recruiting, developing, and leading high-performing teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.High degree of knowledge of relevant legislation and industry practice that governs provision of community aged care.Ability to identify risks, provide solutions, and make informed decisions based on market trends and internal metrics.What makes a difference for us: Tertiary qualifications (post graduate qualifications desirable) in Business Management or related field.Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or WMQ Policy throughout employment and prior to commencement.Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.Why Join Us We value diversity, strive for inclusion, and come together to walk alongside those in need to provide hope and compassion.
