General Manager Communications

Australian Energy Producers is the peak body of Australia's explorers, developers and producers of essential energy – oil, gas and lower-emission fuels. Our members produce around 95% of Australia's oil and gas, providing essential energy to power businesses and homes in Australia and across the world. Our sector invests billions of dollars to generate reliable, secure and cleaner energy, creating jobs and economic growth for the communities in which we operate.
We are currently seeking a senior communications executive to develop strategic advocacy campaigns and to lead the geographically dispersed team who will implement them. The GM Communications will work closely with our policy and government relations team to support the CEO and Board in highlighting the vital role of our industry in supporting the transition to a net-zero economy.
To succeed in this role, you will need a background in senior communications roles, ideally in a peak body or advocacy setting with a focus on Canberra's press gallery. You will need experience in team leadership, campaign management, and a deep understanding of politics. This is a senior role that will help to shape nationally significant policy and will offer a generous remuneration package to suit.
