General Manager – Busselton Golf Club

The ClubThe Busselton Golf Club is recognised as one of the best Regional courses in Western Australia.
Founded in 1907, the course is located two and a half hours south of Perth on the beautiful Geographe Bay.
Home to the famous Busselton Jetty and gateway to the Margaret River wine region.
The club's facilities include an outstanding 18-hole golf course, modern golf shop operated by the club and a friendly clubhouse with bar and cafe.
The board is now seeking applications for the General Manager position to assist the club in its next stage of growth.
The RoleThe role will require an experienced leader with a strong understanding and knowledge of the golf environment and the Club industry generally.
The successful applicant will report to the President and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Club, ensuring that all areas operate at maximum potential.
The GM will work directly with the Board of Directors and is responsible for all aspects of the clubs' activities, ensuring that operations run smoothly and that our members enjoy exceptional experiences.
The successful applicant will be a passionate self-motivated person guiding the board with financially viable planning as we manage the growth of the club through its next development phase.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a "can-do attitude" who is excited by change and enjoys working with a small but extremely talented team.

The Club is currently operating successfully; however, the board welcomes a fresh perspective and a focus on developing the Club's revenues away from just the business of golf.
The successful candidate would ideally have: Experience as a senior-level manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a golf club (or similar), with proven leadership skills and a track record of managing and motivating teams across a range of areas.Proven record of having delivered positive business growth at a golf club (or similar size club).Experience in ensuring compliance with all legislative requirementsProven ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders including members, sponsors and the wider community.Proven ability to initiate and monitor a personnel policy that motivates and builds a strong team through development and support.Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets, cost control, achievement of targets and deliver outcomes to plan.Demonstrated marketing experience across all forms of media.
Someone capable of driving the marketing and exposure of the club to generate awareness and growth of its membership and its ancillary facilities.Experience in overseeing the delivery of major programs such as capital works projects.Familiarity with Xero, MiClub and SwiftPOS.Responsibilities will include, but not limited to; Oversee and guide all aspects of primary club functions (course, Golf shop, Catering and Club Administration) in addition to ensuring implementation of the Course Master Plan per the approved plan.In consultation with the board, assist in setting the strategic direction of the club and lead the Club in ensuring delivery of the Strategic Plan desired outcomes.Drive a culture of service excellence across all areas of the Club's operations.Ensure the Club's property is maintained to a high standard of presentation.Ensure organisational compliance with all relative legislative requirements.Someone capable of driving the marketing and exposure of the club to generate awareness and growth of its membership and its ancillary facilitiesEvolve the Club to a higher-level service-focussed environment for members, guests, sponsors and the wider community.What we are offeringThe role can offer flexibility with respect to working hours, however, weekend work will occasionally be required given the nature of golf itself.
A salary package commensurate with the skills and capabilities displayed by the successful applicant and commensurate with industry standards and experience is on offer.
