The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.
We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) as the General Manager Of Airworthiness & Engineering. We are seeking an energetic leader with a management systems and continuous improvement mindset who has the capability and drive to work across organisational boundaries and deliver transformative business outcomes.
The Role
Work in partnership with other leaders and teams across the business to deliver on the RFDSSE business strategy and our commitment to the communities we serve. You are a senior leader in our business and will consistently role model our values and leadership behaviours. You will play a pivotal role in driving our ambitious business plans by ensuring that all our aircraft meet the highest safety and regulatory standards.
You will lead a talented team of highly skilled professionals and work closely with our Health teams to support the delivery of improved health outcomes to the communities we serve. This is a unique opportunity to shape the airworthiness and engineering strategy of an organisation that is committed to innovation and excellence in the rapidly evolving aeromedical landscape.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated professional, with a keen eye for detail, strong commercial acumen and a relentless focus on safety, compliance and customer service. The right candidate will thrive in this autonomous leadership role.
Essential Criteria:

Currently holds or has held the regulatory approval of Head of Aircraft Airworthiness and Maintenance Control (HAAMC), or an approved Continuing Airworthiness Manager, or a Responsible Manager.
Hold or previously held an aircraft engineer licence (B1, B2 or C), or have qualification in one of the following fields:

Cert IV in aircraft maintenance
diploma in aviation maintenance management
diploma in engineering (aeronautical, avionics, mechanical, electrical, electronics)


Comprehensive knowledge of the CASA regulations and standards applicable to continuing airworthiness and aircraft maintenance.
Capability to develop Continuing Airworthiness and Maintenance Organisation expositions.
Skilled in the preparation and presentation of budgets and reports.
Strong working knowledge of computer-based maintenance systems.
Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated experience in a managerial position.

The role can be located in: Sydney; Dubbo; or Broken Hill.
