This role is responsible for providing legal leadership to the business in relation to all legal matters across the Group, and business units.
The main function of the role is to partner with key business leaders to achieve the strategic and operational goals of the business in a sustainable and compliant way.
The role: Directing and overseeing all legal services provided by the legal function, including advice on corporate and commercial matters, advertising and marketing matters, sales matters, procurement matters, regulatory compliance, legal advice to the business' various manufacturing operations and labour and employment matters Contribute to the development of commercial strategy and business plans Lead the organisational risk management approach and legal compliance Provide leadership, coaching, training and development to the Legal team to develop a high performing team, focussed on realising business strategies Provide legal support for the business and act as a key enabler of the delivery of the business plans Manage all commercial disputes and/or legal workers compensation or common law claims Key member of the Executive Leadership Team support the delivery of strategic and commercial goals of the business through the legal function.
Your background: Australian qualified lawyer Min 15+ years legal experience with significant practical business knowledge, preferably including FMCG or food.
Significant corporate and commercial legal experience, ideally with experience in FMCG.
Significant knowledge of relevant Australian and State laws and regulations.
