This will include specific legal advice in relation to commercial, operational and contractual matters, as well as legal and regulatory matters.
In addition, this position may be required to provide overflow support to the businesses in the UK and NZ, or act in an internal reporting role such as Local Privacy Officer.
This position provides day-to-day support for the General Counsel Chief Legal Officer and Senior Legal Counsels.YOUR DAYS WILL INVOLVE…Reviewing, negotiating and drafting customer and supplier contracts.Identifying matters outside the organisation's risk appetite and escalating appropriately in accordance with the delegation matrix.Support the organisation's risk and compliance functions through monitoring and reporting on legislative changes, and developing and maintaining internal policies.Work with the bid team and new business managers in responding to customer tenders, including reviewing and negotiating agreements.Provide legal and commercial support in relation to existing contracts and provide advice and support in the event of any disputes.Work with the business as directed to ensure required legal/security documentation is appropriately executed.A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUEssentialExperience in contract negotiation and drafting, covering a range of contract types.Good communicator both orally & in writing, demonstrating good listening and probing skills.Diverse range of experience, gained in-house or private practice, commercial acumen and common sense.Work well as part of a team, engage collaboratively.Self-motivated, able to progress work independently, seeking support where required.Analyses information and identifies solutions, demonstrating resourcefulness, perseverance and accountability.Customer focused, both internal and external.DesirableExperience in asset finance, automotive leasing and/or salary packaging OR experience in one or more of AML/CTF compliance, financial services regulatory, privacy, insurance.Interest in understanding, and providing support to, the SG Fleet Group's businesses in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.Governance, compliance or Company Secretarial experience.WHAT'S NEXTWe'd love to hear from you if you're ready to take on your next challenge at a company that embodies diversity and belonging while also offering work-life balance and career development.We are a proud equal opportunity employer, and welcome everyone to our team.
