Lead the Legal Services Group for Australia's corporate, markets, financial services and consumer credit regulator Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer National position - all locations considered The purpose
As General Counsel you will work closely with ASIC's Commission, CEO and Executive Committee to provide exceptional advice and services that contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities to help maintain the integrity of the financial system and protect consumers from harm.
The team
You will lead the Legal Services Group responsible for management of ASIC's legal risk and delivery of services across ASIC that are instrumental in driving ASIC's reputation as a modern effective regulator and enforcement agency. The group comprises five teams: Regulatory, Enforcement and Corporate Legal Services, Operations and the Hearing Delegates Panel.
About you
To be successful in this challenging and rewarding position, you will bring an exceptional set of capabilities and experience that will benefit the organisation and the community we serve. The anticipated expertise would include leading a significant public and or private sector legal function or practice, being a highly effective communicator across all levels and having deep expertise working with or for a regulator and law enforcement agency.
