The Role The Great Southern Mental Health Service is a well-established service.
The adult psychiatry portion of the service is comprised of an authorised inpatient unit with a total of 16 beds, including 4 PICU beds, which is co-located with the Community Mental Health Clinic.
The Adult Community Mental Health is comprised of the Acute Assessment & Treatment Team, and the longer-term Continuing Treatment Team.
Each team has a psychiatrist, at least one registrar, resident medical officer, experienced nurses, Aboriginal mental health workers and a mix of allied health professionals.
The team is responsible for caring for those who need specialist mental health care in the community and inpatient setting and provide necessary pharmacological, behavioural, and therapeutic interventions with an emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach.
The Hospital The Albany Health Campus has a well-established Mental Health Department.
You will be working in a leading, innovative regional comprehensive mental health service (adult, older adult, youth, child and adolescent, inpatient/community, consultant liaison).

Inpatient wards feature a mix of double and single rooms, all air conditioned.

Requirements Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN certified) or New Zealand.
