As we expand our operations, we're looking for a Supplier Relations Manager to play a vital role in strengthening and growing these essential relationships.
Position Overview:
The Supplier Relations Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships with our food suppliers, ensuring a reliable, diverse, and high-quality supply chain.
This role requires an individual who can proactively engage with suppliers, showcase our growing operational capacity, and communicate our professional and impactful approach to food rescue and distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and strengthen partnerships with primary producers, wholesalers, and retailers to expand our food supply network.
Promote Geelong Foodshare's capacity for efficient and professional handling, including our expanded fleet of high-capacity vehicles.
Work collaboratively to improve food security outcomes by increasing the amount of donated food available for distribution to our vast network of partners expanding down to Barwon South West region.
Actively engage with suppliers to understand their needs and align them with our mission, building trust and long-term partnerships.
Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, maintaining predictability, variety, and quality in food supply.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in relationship management, supply chain coordination, or a similar field.
Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to represent Geelong Foodshare professionally.
Understanding of the food industry, logistics, or nonprofit food relief would be an asset.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a part-time structure.
