The role:
Working closely with the CEO Group, you will lead legal and governance functions at Gateways, ensuring compliance with laws, mitigating risks, and providing expert counsel. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to align strategy, governance, and policies, supporting effective decision-making.
With a strong generalist skillset in commercial, corporate, and employment law, you'll deliver accurate, commercially focused legal advice and ensure compliance with internal policies, Human Services Standards, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework.
The successful candidate will demonstrate: Positive, contemporary attitude toward people with disability and trauma backgrounds, with extensive knowledge of disability law, employment law, and regulatory compliance. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with proven experience preparing high-level briefings, reports, and correspondence. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, multiple projects, and change effectively, both autonomously and in a team environment. Proven contract drafting, negotiation skills, and experience in roles requiring strict adherence to legislation and compliance. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with 4+ years of post-admission experience; MBA, not-for-profit, or disability sector experience, and Company Secretary experience advantageous. Why work at Gateways?
