Public FacilityWork across a number of hospitals - provide gastroenterology and Hepatology servicesAccommodation and relocation allowancesThe Position: An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a highly proficient Acute Medicine department as a Gastroenterologist – staff specialist/consultant.
This position will serve as a Medical Practitioner in the primary referral hospital for the region, which translates to encounters with high-acuity cases and a diverse range of clinical experiences.
The role encompasses overseeing patient care across a spectrum of areas including General Gastroenterology, IBD, Chronic liver disease & conducting both diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy procedures. Familiarity with capsule endoscopy is advantageous.

The appointed individual will deliver specialized diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care for public patients. Additionally, they will offer consultative services in Gastroenterology to various medical disciplines.

The Facility: This 300-bed Tertiary Teaching Facility, renowned for its acute care capabilities, catering to over 24,000 inpatients and more than 225,000 outpatients each year. The bustling Emergency Department, equipped with 43 treatment beds, accommodates an annual influx of over 45,000 patients and maintains an admission rate of 35%. This accredited hospital maintains a close-knit partnership with the University of Tasmania through its clinical school.
