Gascoyne Outreach Service Child Health Nurse Gascoyne Outreach Service Child Health Nurse Geraldton Aboriginal Medical Service Inc. (GRAMS) Nursing - Community, Maternal & Child Health (Healthcare & Medical) The Gascoyne Outreach Service (GOS) is seeking to fill the above position.  The Child Health Nurse responsibility is to provide the highest standards of  care to clients of the Gascoyne Outreach Service (GOS) through the provision  of clinical services, primary health care services, health education and promotion in relation to the Child Health Program. The occupant of this position will be expected to comply with and demonstrate a positive commitment to the highest level of achievement in Equal Employment Opportunity. ESSENTIAL: Current registration as a registered nurse with AHPRA.  A tertiary qualification in child health.  Knowledge of health issues for Aboriginal children and families. Experience in performing child health checks (0-5 years). Experience in child ear checks. Current Immunisation Certificate (WA). Sound written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy skills, with the ability to use patient information systems. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently Willingness to continue training towards increasing competencies. Demonstrated planning and time management skills along with an ability to adapt to changing needs. DESIRABLE: Experience working with Aboriginal clients and colleagues. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services. Recent paediatric experience in the community setting. Ability to conduct training and education for a range of audiences.
