Chandler Macleod Gas Meter Readers Opportunity Chandler Macleod has a number of exciting opportunities available for Gas Meter Readers to join the amazing team in Portland. No previous experience required – training will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity for University Students or individuals who love to keep fit and enjoy the outdoors.
Purpose of Gas Meter Readers: The purpose of this role is to read electric, gas, or water meters, record usage, inspect meters and connections for defects and damage, and report irregularities.
What We are Looking for: Can work independently Enjoys working outdoors (rain, hail, or shine) ASAP start Loves fitness and has good physical ability to walk long hours (30km a day) Able to meet strict deadlines Highly focused on safety with a high level of attention to detail On time and reliable Valid driver's license and access to a car Highly committed and motivated Responsibilities and Key Deliverables: Safely navigate properties to gas meter locations, avoiding hazards onsite & update hazard information for future meter readers Report encounters of gas meter leaks, damage, vandalism, and unsafe meter installations, tampering with meters & address errors Enter properties to read installed gas meters & leave the property in the state it was found Ensure all dealings with the public are professional & polite Ensure a high standard of personal presentation at all times & wear the supplied PPE Accurately read meters for gas distributor AusNet services on behalf of gas retailers & fulfill contracted duties daily Occasionally complete car-based routes that require driving onto properties to obtain reads, including along busy roads & Highways Work typically starts in the field between 7am – 8am & 6:30am on days where it is going to be over 35 degrees & must download completed work by 4:30pm each day once the route has been completed What We Offer: Equipment provided Training Flexible ongoing full-time opportunities $30.32 Per Hour + super 5/8 hours a day Drug & Alcohol test, Police Check, and White Card required.
