Kestrel is one of the world's largest producing underground coking, or metallurgical coal mines and produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually. Our coal is shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe to be used in the steel making process. The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD. Our team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation. We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.

About the opportunityWe are committed to continuous improvement and as a result we are seeking interest for a newly created role as Gas Drainage Coordinator based at Kestrel Mine located just outside of Emerald in Central Queensland. In this role, you will be working a Monday to Friday or 9-day Fortnight roster and will be reporting to the Gas Drainage Superintendent. You will be responsible for overseeing Underground to Inseam (UIS), Surface to Inseam (SIS) and Goaf Drainage activities.
