We are seeking a highly skilled Garment Technician / Production Coordinator to join a dynamic team at Unison.
This role is integral to ensuring the timely and quality-driven production of our Womenswear collections, working closely with the Production Manager, Design, and Buying teams.
THE ROLE: Produce, set up, and send detailed style packs to relevant suppliers, including original sample/swatch references and measuring specification sheets.
Prepare style/tech-specific sheets outlining all details, such as print, embroidery, special trims, fabric, and more.
Maintain and update files (buy plans) with style status and details, ensuring all files, including lab dips and comments, are up-to-date.
Supply and approve all care instructions for bulk production.
Collaborate with factories to explore alternative suggestions or present options to the Production Manager if desired costs cannot be met.
Assist in managing the Womenswear production schedule by regularly updating key elements such as style pack dispatch and receipt dates, lab-dip status, fit and PP status, and fabric, wash, and trims status.
Ensure all necessary approvals are discussed with the Womenswear Buying Manager and that appropriate documentation is available before seeking approval.
Manage and conduct fittings of garments for offshore styles, ensuring all garments are measured against specs and any fit, styling, or workmanship comments are noted and communicated to suppliers.
Coordinate style arrival details and update the fit schedule document before fit sessions.
On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role, with offshore production experience essential.
Formal qualifications or relevant experience in production and/or quality control within the apparel industry.
Strong understanding of garment construction, size specifications, and fitting garments, with experience in both cut and sew and woven products.
Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, and Adobe Illustrator; pattern-making experience is advantageous.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking and prioritisation skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
