Wagga Wagga NSW 2650 Signature Care is looking for a full-time Gardener/Maintenance Officer for our brand new residence in Turvey Park. This newly created position presents an exciting opportunity to shape the service delivery of Signature Care into the future during a period of significant change in the aged care sector. About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer/Gardener to assist in maintaining the building and grounds of this brand new, state of the art building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required. You will also have close support from the the GM Property Services. Skills and Requirements for this Role: To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate the following: • Experience in gardening, landscaping and building maintenance • Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable • Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment • Willingness to be contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time • Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues • Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction • Ability to weld would be an advantage • Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed • Supervise and monitor the maintenance and gardening team • Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.
