About the role Located at our aged care service in Bundaberg, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Gardener to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and safety of our grounds.
This role is critical in ensuring that the appearance of our facility is well-kept and inviting for all visitors and residents and is largely an outdoor role working in all weather conditions throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and gardening duties of lawns, gardens and outdoor areas, including mowing, pruning, watering, planting and garden waste removal;Work closely with the maintenance team and other departments when required;Landscaping projects and seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing;Relevant record keeping and administration, ensuring all practices are completed in a timely manner, including all planned and programmed gardening.About you This role is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking for work 3 days a week and is a self-starting and driven individual who loves working collaboratively as part of a team, but is also capable of working independently. You have advanced interpersonal skills which allow you to liaise and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
With your highly developed customer focus and excellent service skills, you resolve gardening issues as they arise. You have proven knowledge and physical capacity to use and maintain equipment as required by the role. Ever ready to provide support, you have a welcoming, caring and compassionate nature.
Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience as a gardener in groundskeeping, or related field;Strong knowledge of plant care, landscaping, and basic horticulture practices;Previous experience in residential aged care, retirement living or community services environment is highly regarded;Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and machinery;Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor;Applied knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements, or ability to acquire same within one month of employment;A current driver's licence;Possess a current National Police Certificate – or ability to acquire.Importantly, you will closely align with our organisational values of: Unconditional Love, Continual Innovation, Mutual Trust, Wise Stewardship and Safety.
