Your role at St John of God Bunbury H ospital This role is required to perform hands on gardening and related maintenance work around the grounds, gardens and reticulation systems and will oversee specialist gardening works such as weed and pest control spraying, lawn fertilising and garden bed replanting and mulching.
The Position Day to day garden and grounds maintenance including but not limited to planned inspections, weed control / removal, rubbish removal, pathway sweeping, minor paving repairs.
Day to day water way and reticulation lake maintenance including but not limited to planned inspections, float some and rubbish removal, weed and algae control.
Preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance (Planned preventative inspection, repair, maintenance and fault finding) of the garden and grounds reticulation system.
Regular inspection of garden and reticulation system to identify any defects / issues and propose corrective actions.
Supervision of external specialist gardening contractors such as lawn mowing, weed / pest control spraying, tree lopping / maintenance, lawn fertilising.
Accountable for the general appearance of the gardens and grounds and compliance with any KPIs specific to areas of responsibility.
Perform daily / weekly maintenance checks as covered in the planned maintenance strategy.
Provide inputs to maintain adequate stock levels for the efficient operation of the reticulation.
Support as required with general maintenance assisting other trades in the engineering team as required / directed.
Attend team meetings as required.
Complete job history and details in computerised maintenance management system.
Perform housekeeping of the work area, workshop and post job clean up.
Reporting on job progress to Facility Manager and highlight hold ups in a timely manner.
Raise Purchase requisitions for reticulation related material for repairs.
You will have demonstrated experience in all aspects of garden and grounds maintenance, reticulation system maintenance and operation, specifically with respect to a large commercial site.
You will have experience with general handyman works, including brick paving and an understanding and ability in the use of garden hand tools and powered equipment.
To succeed in this position, you will have the ability to work in a team environment and be able to communicate with the other caregivers to understand their requests and/or problems that they experience with the services or facilities of the Hospital.
You will be able to work in outdoor area and be experiences with managing the associated hazards and be able to demonstrate recent experience in safe working practices.
This position requires a self-driven, dynamic and result oriented person who can demonstrate continuous self-improvement and good time management, along with being able to work after hours if required to attend any major breakdowns.
