This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2025 Glendale Primary School (PS) caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 and is a school of choice for parents.
Our school is well known for our reputation for inclusivity, quality educational programs, sound behaviour management processes, pastoral care, and high expectations for all students, staff, and parents.
The Gardener - Handyperson is responsible for maintaining the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a conducive external learning environment for students and staff.
This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes.
Additionally, the role involves maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies.
The Gardener - Handyperson is also tasked with keeping gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices.
Collaborating with the Manager of Corporate Services, the role contributes to the development of safe work procedures and conducts risk assessments as needed.
Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation and the management of hazardous substances are integral aspects of the role, including the maintenance of records in accordance with safety guidelines.
The Gardener - Handyperson plays an important role in ensuring the school's outdoor spaces are well-maintained and conducive to a positive learning environment.
