This full-time role is an amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to commence their careers under the guidance of the hotel's Maintenance Manager.
The role is fixed weekend coverage with two days off mid-week.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Handyman/Gardener is primarily responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager to ensure all the hotel rooms, restaurant, pool area, and grounds are maintained to an exceptionally high level.
The hotel is willing to mentor and develop the successful candidate and provide the training required to undertake this varied and diverse role.
Key areas of focus include: Maintaining all lawns, grounds, garden, and irrigation systemsUndertaking general maintenance repairs - general plumbing, painting, carpentry skillsDetailing and washing company vehicles, as well as assisting with shuttle dutiesEnsuring the pool is maintained in line with the Aquatic Pool Standards for Class 3 PoolsLiaising with other hotel staff and assisting with general tasks and guest assistance requestsDemonstrate the core values of the organisation: Passion, Accountability, Integrity, and RespectBenefits and perks Fantastic team environment, with supportive leadersFree onsite parkingAccommodation & F&B Discounts in all Vista Hospitality Group hotelsUniforms suppliedEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Training & Development to grow your careerInter-hotel transfer optionsSkills and experience This role would be ideally suited for a person wishing to kick start a career in hospitality.
The hotel is prepared to provide specific training within each relevant area so that you are confident in all tasks and your ability.
Prior experience with:
Gardening, Retic, small power tools highly desiredBasic handyman tasks (drills, door locks, TV & basic electronics) are highly desiredThis is a physically demanding role and is suited to a person with a high level of fitness and staminaThe successful candidate must be:
