Primary Objective: Provide specialist advice and support services to industry and management regarding the application of the legislative framework for which Licensing NT is responsible.
Context Statement: Perform the regulatory functions of an appointed inspector in accordance with legislation administered by Licensing NT, including exercising statutory powers and others as delegated.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in active investigative, enforcement, and compliance programs in partnership with industry and other public sector and enforcement agencies.Apply knowledge of the principles and protocols relating to inspections, investigations, and complaints.Respond to stakeholder requests, collate and disseminate relevant information, resolving problems and escalating issues when required.Maintain sound corporate governance of public records by ensuring accurate documentation.Actively participate in building relationships, sharing information, and promoting cooperation across Licensing NT.Understand local and national industry issues and regulatory initiatives relating to alcohol and gambling-related harms.Selection Criteria: Essential: Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.High standards of client focus, initiative, and problem-solving skills with well-developed organizational and coordination skills.Advanced written skills with experience preparing confidential documentation and file notes with accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to interpret and apply legislative frameworks, policies, and procedures within a regulatory framework.Ability to operate as a team member, as well as independently.Ability to interact with people from diverse cultures.Desirable: Knowledge of local and national gaming issues.Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent.Further Information: Appointees should be of the highest standard of character and probity. Successful applicants may be required to undergo a criminal history check, the result of which must be satisfactory before appointment can be confirmed.
