As a Fund Servicing Analyst  within the Fund Servicing team, you are responsible for assisting clients meet their regulatory reporting obligations with respect to Accounting and Tax.  It involves the preparation of a reconciled trial balance and subsequent set of Financial Statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.  Also it involves taxable income calculations for the purpose of distributions throughout the year and the preparation of the Annual Tax Return as well as the GST (Business Activity Statement) return and other regulatory filings.  These reports are prepared for our Clients' Portfolios and are reviewed by our Clients' Auditors or Tax Agent. Each client has various deadlines including daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly.
Job responsibilities:

Provide support to preparers in the preparation of audit packs, distribution, tax returns, tax supplementary reports, financial statements and any other deliverables. Perform review/checks on deliverables prepared by team members.
Ensure deliverables under clients handled are signed off on strict timetables so that third party (clients/auditors) needs are met timely. Prepare deliverables when there is capacity constraint within the team.
Regularly coordinate/communicate with Sydney Financial Reporting and Tax teams through emails, or telephone for chasing dependencies and solving issues. Make sure all Sydney Financial Reporting and Tax queries are responded to by the team timely and accurately. Regularly review SOPs to ensure they are duly updated and recertified by Sydney.
Lead in the team's regular knowledge sharing and learning activities to achieve the team's goal of zero error in all its deliverables.
Handling the task of client POC which basically makes sure all client nuances are properly and timely documented and applied in all its deliverables.
Taking a lead role in projects related to the implementation of enhanced processes or productivity.
Make sure team members under supervision have complied to all mandatory trainings and completed all assigned administrative tasks and audit requirements.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

In depth understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards ie: IFRS.
Exhibits leadership behaviors
Displays strong decision making skills
Advanced analytical skills
Attention to details
Strong organizational and communication skills, oral and written

Preferred qualification: 

Bachelor's Degree, preferably CA /CPA, or Accounting Graduate
Minimum 2years' experience in finance, tax or audit field, experience in the fund management industry in a tax or accounting role would be highly regarded
