Unity Fund Services (UFS) is expanding our team, and we are searching for a qualified Fund Accountant in the position of Assistant Manager to help us lead, coach, and mentor our fund accountants as we redefine fund administration.This is an opportunity to join an established growing business in a rapidly expanding financial services group with over $60 billion in funds under administration.Our fund administration and accounting team is a specialized team that services funds and other entities on a large client base with an even larger asset mix including listed & unlisted securities, private equity, loans, debt, and property. Be part of a team that services the end-to-end fund needs including trade capture, calculation of net asset valuation, production of accounting reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, etc.), preparation of statutory financial statements at year end, and distribution calculations. The role is varied, and a chance to develop a full range of accounting skills from understanding accounting standards to tax concepts when calculating taxable income for a fund.What sets us apart is our great culture with a clear focus on people, development & learning, a highly supportive team environment, and career progression.The Opportunity:UFS is seeking an eager, proactive Fund Accountant to join our business. This position is suited to someone who has strong experience and knowledge of all aspects of fund accountancy including NAV preparation, tax calculations, and financial statement preparation. By providing fund, tax, and accounting support you will be a highly valued member of the business, reporting to the Senior Manager of fund accounting you will manage relationships with key stakeholders ensuring all aspects are delivered accurately and efficiently.Key Responsibilities:All aspects of transaction capture for an entity including accruals, trades, interest, distributions, and capital.Responsible for accurate calculation of net asset value of a fund on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.Production of annual statutory financial reporting including notes to the accounts.Accurate calculation of distributions on a regular basis according to the fund requirements (e.g. monthly, quarterly, or annually).Active ownership of the day-to-day client relationship including timely answering of queries and managing handoffs between client and our organization.Execution of onboarding new funds and fund restructures as required.Adhere to our robust procedures and controls that ensure adherence to relevant policies and ensure a quality product.Take part in process improvement and projects as required.Key Competencies:Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work both independently and as a team.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate with others.Experience:3 years minimum in a Fund Accounting or other relevant accounting-related role.Knowledge of financial instruments or other asset types, such as property, loans, or private equity.Experience with NAV preparation, tax/distribution calculations, and financial statement preparation.Accounting-related degree or similar.
