Our company is currently seeking self-motivated and passionate individuals to join our team as a Functions Support Officer.
About the MECC: The MECC is a cutting-edge facility known for its versatility and innovation.
With a range of dynamic spaces, including a 1090-seat theatre, 100-seat studio space, two plenary halls that can accommodate up to 1800 people, dedicated foyers, bars, an experimental theatre space, breakout rooms, and extensive front-house and backstage facilities, the MECC is designed to deliver unforgettable experiences.
About this opportunity: As a Function Support Officer, you will ensure that each event is perfectly set up, from furniture and equipment to technical requirements.
Your industry experience and attention to detail will help us create seamless and memorable events for our clients and guests.
What You Will Do: Set up furniture, equipment, and event spaces to perfection. Maintain the highest standard of venue presentation at all times. Work closely with organisers to ensure smooth, successful events. Deliver top-notch customer service to clients and guests. Ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Current QLD Class C Driver's licence. Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate or ability to obtain one. Experience in event setup, hospitality, or a related field is highly desirable. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required. Why work for Mackay Regional Council?
