The iconic QA Hotel is a cornerstone of James St in New Farm and has been serving patrons since the 1800s with a range of dining options, a dedicated sports bar, full TAB facilities, gaming room and stunning function spaces over three levels.
We have an exciting opportunity for a vibrant, creative and passionate functions and events manager to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for coordinating all events from sales, right through to the operation and execution of each event.
Experience in hospitality and the functions space is essential, with a willingness to create unforgettable experiences for our clients' functions and events.
As Functions and Events Manager, you will report directly to the Venue Manager.
Your responsibilities will include: Driving both inbound and outbound sales for functions and events.
Working with the marketing department and suppliers to create and host bespoke events.
Manage the engagement process including negotiating, pricing and coordination with other internal departments.
With assistance from the finance team, manage the payment process.
Planning and coordinating staffing requirements with the Hotel management team
Leading the team efficiently and delegating tasks appropriately
Hosting select events
Planning and coordinating room set-up and pack down
Additional Hotel operational duties as required
