Responsibilities: Support internal and external customer functional safety lifecycle activities to ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards, WHS laws, and client specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate functional safety into the project lifecycle.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure Safety-related control system and electrical projects meet desired functional safety outcomes.
Conduct/support hazard and risk assessments, identify hazard scenarios, and confirm risk targets are met.
Develop and maintain safety-related project documentation, including hazard and risk analysis reports, Functional Safety Management Plans, Safety Requirements Specifications, SIL or PL verification reports, maintenance, and proof test procedures.
Conduct project functional safety audits and assessments to verify compliance with standards.
Provide client-facing functional safety support.
Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or substantial and relevant industry experience.
Functional Safety certification.
Minimum 3 years' post certification experience as a Functional Safety Engineer.
Working knowledge of standards such as AS IEC 61508, AS IEC 62061, ISO 13849, AS 4024 series, and AS IEC 61511.
Experience in the mining or process industries.
Client-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
