Job Description As a result of continued company growth, GPA is looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our Risk Engineering team in Adelaide (head office), Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne offices . We are happy to consider applications from candidates seeking a full or part time position.

We welcome applications from candidates of all levels, including experienced and senior engineers. To be successful in this position, you should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, preferably with an IEC background. Ideally, you will possess at least 5 years of experience in Functional Safety within an operating or engineering design company.
Key Duties Deliver functional safety lifecycle activities inclusive of: Hazard and Risk Assessment Facilitation, including facilitation CHAZOP and E-HAZOP Development of Safety Requirements Specifications SIL Verification Development Functional Safety Management Plans Undertaking Functional Safety Assessments Promoting safety in design principles Supporting Clients to understand and manage the requirements of Functional Safety and Machine Safety Standards. Desired Skills and Experience Ideally, your skills and experience will include the following: A background in Instrumentation, Electrical & Controls is highly desirable Knowledge of AS IEC 61508/61511 CHAZOP and Electrical HAZOP Facilitation experience Machinery Safeguarding experience is beneficial Strong interest in functional safety and risk engineering Sound technical aptitude Strong verbal and written communication skills Natural ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders A positive mindset focused on solutions and customer service Willingness to learn The Perks!
